Our Team

We are a team.  We build each other up.  We grow stronger.  We grow bolder.  We learn.  We sweat.  We play.  We achieve…TOGETHER.

Our energetic instructors are trailblazing the path to an exhilarating mind-body experience in every class.  Our style of riding will challenge you to find the beat of the music and explore your journey to its fullest potential.

What type of music can riders expect in your class?  I play mostly pop/dance related music from the past several generations. I enjoy current beats and remixes but LOVE a good throwback!

What’s something most people don’t know about you?  I grew up next door to a restaurant on Irondequoit Bay called Glen Edith that my grandma owned.  It was a huge part of my life for 14 years.

What’s the first song you play on a bar juke box?  The Thong Song!  What a crowd pleaser!

If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why?  I’d be a mimosa because I am bubbly, a little sweet {but not too sweet}, and I love the morning!

What’s your favorite thing about Compass? I love the music and the way it feels to lose yourself in a song while working hard and riding with your pack.  The active meditation is amazing once you figure out how to let your mind be free!

Ashley C

What’s your spirit animal?  A lion. It’s my zodiac sign.  Like a lion, I’m very loyal to my friends and family and I also love naps!

Where’s your favorite place to hang in Rochester?  I love Cobbs Hill in the spring/summer.  I like to jog around the reservoir and the view from the top of the hill is amazing.

What’s the first song you play on a bar juke box?  Baby Got Back by Sir Mix A Lot (also, my favorite Karaoke song!)

What’s your pump-up song?  Turn Down for What by Lil John.  I LOVE songs that have a huge build up and then drop.

What’s your favorite thing about Compass?  My favorite thing is that it’s not your typical cycling studio.  I love that we focus on encouraging and uplifting our riders through motivating words.

Barb

What type of music can riders expect in your class?  Everything from EDM & Hip Hop to Rock and Punk!

Winter or summer Olympics?  Summer!!  I love the sun….and beach volleyball is super cool!

What’s the first song you play on a bar juke box?  Some old rock and roll…

If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why? A beer…an IPA…so much depth, yet so simple and uncomplicated.  It’s not because I’m uncomplicated…it’s because I WANT to be!

What’s your favorite thing about Compass?  The connection with the music, with the moment and with the people.

Elyse

What’s something most people don’t know about you?  I once spent a week sleeping in a garbage bag.

Winter or summer Olympics?  Hard winter.  I can’t get enough of the short track speed skating.

What’s the first song you play on a bar juke box?  Bill Withers – Use Me

If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why? The Vesper, because if I were going to be any “leading lady” it would be her.  But also, it’s the classiest cocktail with just a hint of sweetness, a dash of bitter on the tongue and all booze.

What’s your favorite thing about Compass?  Aside from the style of workout, I love that it’s a community that I feel a sense of belonging to.

Esther

What type of music can riders expect in your class?  A constantly changing mix of EDM // Hip Hop // Pop // Alternative // Grungy Rock.  I also LOVE some good 90’s throwbacks.  I’m OCD when it comes to music so it evolves for every class i teach.

What’s your spirit animal?  Probably Yoda, uses the force to manipulate the mind for all things good and peaceful.  Yoda inspires hope even when something seems impossible.  Plus Yoda has a great sense of humor!

If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why?  No cocktails – more like a green smoothie type of girl!

If you could describe your class in three words, what would they be?  Electric, motivating, love.

What’s your favorite thing about Compass?  For real, ONE thing?!  The candles, the dark room, the quality of the sound – the music is the heartbeat of our classes; without it we have nothing.  It’s loud and beautiful and perfect!  This ambience tied with the people who are there – all different types of people, all walks of life, all with a story.  People who come to shake off the day and just sweat together – together we are stronger!

Tasia

What’s your favorite song to play in class?  It’s a tie between “IF” Janet Jackson and “Untouched” by The Veronicas.  Guess you could say I love some girl power!

What’s your spirit animal?  Some sort of fast cat, like a cheetah!  They pretty much love to bask in the sun and be lazy, but when it is time to get some work done, they are full throttle all the way!

Where’s your favorite place to hang in Rochester?  I can’t help it…Flight or Flight West!

If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why?  I can only choose one??  A Manhattan!  Classic and simple but with a rye wiskey for spice and a cherry for sweetness.  A well-rounded gal!

What’s your favorite thing about Compass?  The addiction!  It’s not just our riders that want more and more…it’s the instructors too!  You can’t explain why, but you will swim through shark infested waters to get to class!
